Key Stage 2 - 2019
Our results for the 2019 Y6 year group were broadly in line with National expectations.
 
Overall the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in Reading and Writing and Maths combined was 53% (8 out of 15 pupils). The National average was 65%. We narrowly missed achieving this (one pupil missed the expected standard in Reading by 2 marks, they had been very ill before, during and after SATs. They were predicted to meet the Expected Standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined - met in Writing and Maths 107).
 
Progress scores for this group of pupils (from Y2 assessments) was 'average' for Writing (-1.75, confidence -4.6 to 1.1) and Reading (-2.49, confidence -5.7 to 0.7) and 'below average' for maths (-2.92, confidence -5.7 to -0.1).
 

Year 6 2019 - 15 pupils = 1 child 6.6%

% SEND = 1 pupil (6.6%) who is EHCP, didn’t sit SATs

Y6 SATs 2019 Strengths

  • Significant improvement in pupils meeting the expected standard in Maths (2018 33%, 2019 73.3%)

  • Pupils meeting the expected standard in Maths (73.3%)  is in line with the 2019 National average (75%)

  • Pupils meeting the expected standard in Reading (67%)  is in line with the 2019 National average (73%)

  • Pupils meeting the expected standard in Writing (73%)  is in line with the 2019 National average (78%)

  • Improvement in pupils making expected progress from Y2 in maths (2018 'well below average' progress score ‘-3.9’, confidence -6.6 to -1.2, 2019 ‘below average’ -2.92, confidence -5.7 to -0.1)

  • Improvement in RWM combined score from 2018 (2018 27%, 2019 53.3%)

  • Pupil Premium pupils (2 pupils) achieved and progressed well in Reading and Writing 

Areas to Investigate - Development focus 2019/20

  • RWM combined score 53.3%  is below 2019 National (65%) - See point below 

  • Reading Progress is below National

  • Progress for Higher Attaining Pupils (HAP - L3 at Y2) has been weak overall, particularly in Reading - many of these pupils did not meet the Greater Depth standard in Y6

  • SPAG achievement is weak overall compared to Reading, Writing and Maths ARE

  • Pupil Premium  expected standards in maths attainment and progress (warning - small cohort - 2 pupils)
